Step by step - COLOR GEL (Gel polish)
How to do gel polish nails - Step by step!
Color gel, or gel polish as it is also called, is used to strengthen and/or decorate nails in different colors.
It is just like a nail polish except that it gives a result that lasts up to 3 weeks and requires curing under a UV or LED lamp.
Important to consider
• Careful preparation: The key to achieving a lasting result is to be careful to prepare your nails properly.
• Avoid contact with skin: The product must not come into contact with cuticles or the sides of the nail.
• Cuticles: Push down or file away the cuticles and apply gel polish a little away from the cuticles to avoid lifting and product coming into contact with the skin (important)
1. Preparation:
1. Shape your nails to the desired length and shape with a 100 grit nail file .
2. Push back the cuticles with an orange wood stick.
3. Lightly file the entire nail surface with a 240 grit nail file or buffer to create a ridged surface for the material to adhere to.
4. Clean the nail with Disinfectant spray or Pre-cleanser . Use a lint-free wipe or a nail brush to remove dust, oil and dirt.
NOTE: Do not touch the nail surface with your fingers after cleaning, dirt and oils will cause loosening.
2. Apply foundation products
1. Apply a thin layer of Extreme Dehydrator with a lint free wipe and let it dry on its own.
2. Apply a thin layer of Primer (without it touching the skin) and let air dry.
3. Apply a thin layer of Base coat to protect the nail and provide an adhesive surface. Avoid contact with cuticles and skin. Cure in the UV lamp for 60 seconds.
3. Apply Color gel
1. Apply a thin layer of Color gel in any color. Cover the entire nail but avoid getting too close to the cuticle and skin.
2. Cure in the lamp for 60 seconds.
Note: Applying too thick layers of Color gel can result in the gel not drying properly in the lamp, resulting in an uneven, bubbly or "ridged" surface. It is better to apply several thin layers than a few thick layers.

3. Repeat as necessary to build up the color. Cure between each layer.
4. Create patterns or designs
• Use thin brushes or dotting tools to create patterns or designs.
• Cure each layer before adding new details.
5. Apply Top coat
1. Apply a thin layer of Top coat (glossy or matte finish) to protect the nails and give a glossy surface.
2. Cure for 120 seconds.
6. Final steps
1. Wipe off the sticky layer with Wipe off on a cotton ball. You can skip this step if you have a No wipe top coat.
2. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
3. Apply Cuticle oil to moisturize the cuticles.
